I got the impression that a lot of folks really didn't like the BEER WARS movie. I could have done without the woman promoting Moonshot, that was a bit tedious since I disagree with the premise (market driven business). Moonshot is most definitely not what we think of when we say the words "craft beer" together, so there's going to be very little sympathy for the woman's frustration at not being able to bring her beer to market.
I liked the cultural commentary and getting a view of how BIG BEER works and why it's so tough for the craft beers to get to the shelves. The word that we are doing to demand that the wholesalers actually provide the craft beers to the retailers is very important.
I actually liked it. Rhonda's bit didn't bother me as much as, for me, it was a different depiction of a "little guy" (or woman) trying to promote whatever beverage while pitted against the corporate giants.
I enjoyed the info about BBig Beer's marketing strategies as well. Quite the eye opener!
What DID annoy me was Todd's trashing of Moonshot. It seemed really hypocritical to me. Though I believe that Moonshot is probably crap and probably deserves it, I was pretty pissed because whenever anti-BMC discussions get brought up on BeerAdvocate, he and Jason always seem quick to defend BMC and cry that "Beer is beer" (when we all know it ain't!). Could it be because A-B is buying full-page ads? Hmm.
