My favorite Beer Bar would fall into different areas because I am constantly on the move:
Close by: Canterbury Ales of Huntington
Nassau: Waterzooi of Garden City and Croxley Ales of Franklin Square
Eastern Suffolk: Dek's of Rocky Point and Bobbique of Patchogue
Brooklyn: Barcade of Williamsburg and Great Bar Harry of Cobble Hill
Manhattan: The Belgian Room and Jimmy's 43
When on I-95 in Eastern CT: The Griswold Inn of Essex
My favorite Long Island beer bar is Croxleys in Franklin Square. I went there one Tuesday night with three other people, after 2 rounds the waitress bought the next round. The food is very good. Only been to DEKS once, I really liked it, the night of the firkin. If it was closer it would be #1. great craft beer place. With Croxleys a close 2nd.

I havent been to Once and For All yet. I am in between Bobbagues, and Tj Finleys as far as favorite bars go. Ive been to Amolst all the good places but they are all far from wwhere I live so I dont really get to go back as much as would like.
There are so many places to choose from - which is fantastic. We took a trip out to Waterzooi in Garden City a while back and I was impressed by all the Belgian beer and great food. Another neat place was TJ Findley's -- again great beer selection and really good food - Delirium Tremens and Dulle Teve on tap. I look forward to any future beer dinners there. Not been to Once and For all yet --- but am looking forward to it.
I actually wanted to make a correction as we were at TJ Finley's today and Dulle Teve is only in the bottle. My mistake (my wish???) Delirium Tremens is definitely on tap. Really sorry for this mistake....but still a great beer bar!

No problem. I know you have great beer up there. I had some incredible brews on tap at The Belgian Room and Blind Tiger when I was up there last summer, though I have yet to drink on/in (?, sorry, new to the area) Long island.
My favorites are the Croxley Ales in Rockville Centre, which is the closest for me, and in Franklin Square, which I prefer because it has a more local, corner bar feel to it. In addition to the great beer selection, the food at both locations is consistently good and you can't beat the wings.
Waterzooi in Garden City is also a favorite, especially at happy hour when complimentary moules frites are available at the bar.
Plattedeutsche Park in Franklin Square has the best selection of German beers I've seen on Long Island and great German food. The outdoor biergarten is fun for hanging out in the warmer weather.
Plattedeutsche Park! Alright, sounds like another road trip. That's the reason I started this thread, I was hoping to get list of places that I could put on my future destinations card.
I'm in Huntington but the place I like best is in Patchogue... Fadeley's,
not the biggest selection but a nice mix and it's a great old dive bar. In Huntington obviously Canterbury ales as well as Doc Findley's ....both are decent but I guess I'm spoiled by all the beer bars in Brooklyn and Manhattan that have deep killer line ups....plenty of good spots on LI, just have not found any truly at the level of some of the city spots....maybe just a function of a smaller audience here on LI.
Heard there was a Croxley's opening in Farmingdale five minutes from Black Forest....anybody been? Also heard of a few places but never been....one called Mr. Beery's (hate the name) and another place called something like "Effin Groovin" or something like that...anybody?
The new Croxley Ales in Farmingdale is on the former location of the Downtown Club, right near the tracks (2 blocks north of Conklin & Main). If the new Croxley is anything like the others bearing its name, the Black Forest will get some badly needed competition in the mid-LI area. I drove by the new Croxley's , which was in dry-wall staging 2 weeks ago.
Mr. Beery's is a dumpy place with a good beer list where some people still smoke.
